While my preference tends to be for a more abstract exploration of concept, I think you did a nice literal job of exploring place. I feel though, personally, that this is too personal, like something you would keep for yourself and close friends and family rather than a discussion piece or exploratory piece. If thats what you were going for then great! On your next project however I would see if you cant either push the literalness or the abstraction.
