Revised Pitch idea

Title: Lucky Pencil
Main character: Pretty superstitious in her opinion and has lost what she calls her lucky pencil and refuses to do any studying without it. Really though, she's not very confident a bit absent-minded and is superstitious and deep down, her pencil is almost like a security blanket, something she can't do without. She's willing to go far to avoid bad luck, even retracing her steps to find her pencil believing she won't do well without it.
Best friend 1: This friend is somewhat pessimistic and defiantly doesn't buy her friends superstitious beliefs. She does care about her friend enough to want to help her, but deep down she can't stand her friends superstitious beliefs. She doesn't think it's really necessary to search for one pencil, but still decides to help.
Best friend 2: This friend is more willing to help her friend find her pencil despite her superstitious beliefs, but doesn't think it's worth worrying over either. Nonetheless she does care about her friends feelings and wants to help.
Central Point: Searching for the pencil.
Central Goal: Finding the pencil, only to find out it was close by the whole time. Meant to serve as a surprise plot twist.

In the beginning of the film, the main character is desperately searching for her lucky pencil. When we first see her she is searching in her dorm living room and it's messy with papers and books. She searches the couches, books and floor, but can't find it.
A little later, her two friends arrive to study with her and they ask her what's up. She replies in saying that her lucky pencil is missing and needs to find it. Her friends suggest that she could just use another pencil, but she absolutely refuses and asks them for help in finding it. The 1st friend, a little pessimistic and not into her friend's beliefs of superstition, doesn't think searching for one pencil is worth it, but agrees to help anyway. The 2nd friend is more eager to help but she too doesn't buy into her friend's superstitions either.
The main character recalls that she was using her pencil at school and she also remembers using it at the park and suggests they look for the pencil at those two places. The main character and her friends check the classroom at school first. They check the floor, under the tables, near the door, on the chairs and still can't find the pencil.
Then they go to the picnic table at the park and check around there. The grass, the trees and they still can't find it.
The friends suggest that she'd at least try studying with another pencil and the main character reluctantly agrees. But as she gets up and turns around to go back to the dorm, one of her friends notices something sticking out of her back pocket and she asks her friend what it is. The main character checks and it turns out that her lucky pencil was in her back pocket the whole time. Her friends respond astonished and annoying to this and the film ends with the main character holding the pencil and feeling very embarrassed.
